Cookie Info

Cookie banners are usually a warning that a page is about to load a crowd of trackers. On this site the banner has a much smaller job. This page explains what it does, what is stored and how to undo it.

What is stored, and where

When you choose an option in the cookie message, the site writes one small entry to your browser's local storage. It records that you have answered and which answer you gave, so the message stays out of your way as you move between guides.

  • It sits only on your own device.
  • It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
  • It holds nothing that could single you out.
  • It does not follow you to other websites.

Strictly speaking this is local storage rather than a cookie, but the effect for you is the same, so we describe it here.

What is not stored

Trier Exams Tech Desk sets no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no social media cookies and no session cookies. There is no login, so there is nothing to remember you by. Choosing "decline" therefore changes nothing about how the pages work; it simply records that you answered.

Your hosting provider's side

The company that serves our pages keeps short technical logs of requests, as described in the Privacy Notes. Those logs do not depend on cookies and are not used to track individual readers.

Clearing or changing your choice

To make the message appear again, clear this site's stored data in your browser:

  1. Open your browser settings and find the privacy or site data section.
  2. Search for trierexams.com in the list of sites.
  3. Choose to remove or clear its data.
  4. Reload any page and the message will return.

Private or incognito windows forget the entry automatically when they close.

Outside websites

If you follow a link from one of our articles to another site, that site may use its own cookies under its own policy. Our message and settings have no effect there.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, write to the desk. For the full picture of how the site treats personal data, see the Privacy Notes and the Terms and Conditions of Use.
