Contact the Desk
The quickest way to reach us is by email at notes@trierexams.com. The form on this page does the same thing: it opens your own email program with our address already filled in, so you can read the message through before it goes anywhere.
Good reasons to write
- A step in a guide no longer matches your screen, remote or dashboard.
- A fact, date or name in an article looks wrong.
- You have a question about home TV, gadgets, cars, travel tech or paperwork that could become a useful article.
- Your business would like to propose an article for one of our sections.
- You want to use a right described in the Privacy Notes.
Details that speed things up
When reporting a problem with a guide, please include:
- the page title or address;
- the device, app or vehicle involved, with the model or version where you know it;
- which step broke down, and what appeared in its place.
A short description is usually more useful than a screenshot. If you do attach one, crop out anything private first.
Please keep these out of your message
Passwords, PINs, bank or card numbers, identity documents, contract numbers and medical details. We never need them, we will never ask for them, and anyone claiming to write from this desk who does ask is not us.
The limits of an email desk
We are three writers, not a repair shop, a law firm or a call centre. We cannot:
- log in to your devices or accounts;
- diagnose a car fault from a description;
- review your contract, will or power of attorney;
- recommend a specific adviser, garage or provider.
For those, the maker of your equipment, a qualified technician, or a local lawyer or independent adviser is the right first call. What we can do is put right a guide that is wrong, and write new ones when several readers ask the same question.
When you will hear back
Every message is read by one of the team. Corrections jump the queue because they affect everyone who reads the guide next; accepted fixes are listed on Updates and Fixes. Topic ideas go onto our list and we reply when there is something useful to say. If your question is about a term rather than a specific guide, Tech and Money Terms Explained may answer it straight away.
A tip for your message
The most useful message is a specific one
Tell us the page, the device or document involved and the exact point where things went sideways. That alone usually lets us check a report in one sitting.
Keep passwords, account numbers and identity papers out of it. Nobody here has any use for them, so no request for them will ever come from us.
